The Space We Occupy

It's 10: 00 pm on November 4th, and I'm sweating harder than a fattened turkey during Thanksgiving holiday!

 I'm not sure whether it is global warming, climate change, Indian summer, or whatever they are calling it these days.

Oh, wait a minute, I'm not allowed to say Indian summer am I? I guess I'm supposed to say, Indigenous people's summer. Or since I am part Indian, is Indian summer OK?

The political correct landscape changes so fast, it is hard to tell. 

Am I allowed to say, that it is hot as hell? 

The reality is, November and December, have had peaks and valleys in temporal variance, for as long as I can remember. I can recall one Christmas day, when I played football outside with my friends, while I wore a t-shirt. The other team was skins! That was in the early 1970's, when at that time, scientist were certain, that by now we were assured to be in an ice age. There is no doubt in my mind, that with the world's population expected to exceed 8 billion this year, that they are having a detrimental effect on the world's climate. 

What that effect is, and how we counter it, is up for debate. Even among the most highly trained scientists. I'm sure that that soon the temperature will drop like the value of your 401k, during a bear market. 

Then everyone will be screaming about how they can't wait for the heat of summer to arrive, and when summer is here once again, pining again for another season.  

All of those snowy winter nights that could be spent by a crackling fireplace, or the memories that might be created with a homemade cookie, and a cup of hot cocoa wished away. 

Somehow, we are never quite satisfied with the space we occupy. 

Though mental time travel, separates us from animals. 

It is however a detriment, if we allow it to rob us from living in the here and now.

Precious moments can happen during every season. Even when it is especially hot or cold. We need to keep our eyes open for them. They are all too often gone before we realize it!

In the beginning

Imagine if you will it's almost bedtime, and you start to think about all the things you need to get done tomorrow. Of course, there's work, tomorrow I need to be there at one. And then, the car is due for an oil change, if I leave early for work, I should be able to get it done in time and you still have to get registered with some other companies for AEP (Insurance Term), it's just around the corner. I'll have time to do that during my lunch break. Then you told your son you'd swing by his place to take a look at his jeep, it's making a strange noise. You can leave even earlier for work, that hopefully won't take too long. Sound familiar? Although the list of things to be done will be different, it's what each of us goes through almost every night. Planning a day so full that we don't leave ourselves much wiggle room. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

  Now comes the time that we celebrate one year of the Bedheadbob BLOG.  Well actually, the one year anniversary won't be the one year anniversary, it isn't until this Saturday, April 8th, so you still have time to get me that red Corvette I've always wanted.  On a serious note though, it is a special moment for me, as I celebrate not only the accomplishment of what I consider to be one of the crowning accomplishments of my life, but also the bond I feel with each of you, although we've never met, at least most of us.  Which brings me to the topic of this week's BLOG...
