Just this side of Heaven

 

Several months ago, we were approved for a home aide, who helps with a lot of the light-duty tasks around the house. Lending us some much-appreciated help. Her name is Heaven, and she lives about a mile down the road, with her boyfriend Josh, a friend of mine. 

She is a very sweet young woman. Being a relatively new girlfriend of Josh's, I hadn't met her before. Over the past few months, I've had the opportunity to get to know her pretty well, after all, you can't help but get to know someone you allow to brush your teeth. 

I must admit because Heaven is such a beautiful young woman, I was a little concerned at first, that Jonell would be jealous of her. But it was silly of me to worry, as Jonell is a confident, beautiful woman in her own right, and she knows that I love her deeply. 

Most of Heaven's days are spent dusting, sweeping, or hanging laundry with my wife. In fact, she and my wife, have become good friends. I am so thankful my wife has such a good friend. I enjoy watching and listening to them talk. 

I find her name to be both fascinating and appropriate. She arrived at a time when I needed a little heaven in my life, pun intended. She has been a blessing, in many ways. 

I believe that people are placed into your life when you need them most. To fill a specific hole you have. Heaven has certainly been that person in our lives. 

So when I say Thank Heaven, my words could have one of two meanings or both!
