Introduction

As mentioned in a previous BLOG, I am working on a book. I thought I would share my introduction with my loyal BedHead’s! 

 I thought I was going to die! Both from what I've been told, and what I've read, I should have. It was September 22, 2021, and I had a massive brain stem stroke. 

Which would lead to my being diagnosed with a rare condition, called Locked in Syndrome (LiS). Few people have ever heard of it, even fewer know how it effects the body. 

LiS, as it is often referred to, in medical journals and scholarly papers, is a cruel sentence. If you are reading this book. It is highly likely, that you or someone close to you, has been diagnosed with LiS.

 A simple search of the Internet, will yield many entries, which will all basically tell you the same information. None will offer my first hand experience. 

What you will get from this book, is my nearly one year of living with LiS, 24/7 365 days a year. Well, it will be, by the time I go to press. 

I'm not fancy, I offer you a common man's look at things. That is my background, that is who I am, how I grew up. 

I still believe that hard work, will get you the things you want, at least the things you need . During the past year, those things have changed a great deal for me. Staring death in the face, has that effect on you.

In the beginning

Imagine if you will it's almost bedtime, and you start to think about all the things you need to get done tomorrow. Of course, there's work, tomorrow I need to be there at one. And then, the car is due for an oil change, if I leave early for work, I should be able to get it done in time and you still have to get registered with some other companies for AEP (Insurance Term), it's just around the corner. I'll have time to do that during my lunch break. Then you told your son you'd swing by his place to take a look at his jeep, it's making a strange noise. You can leave even earlier for work, that hopefully won't take too long. Sound familiar? Although the list of things to be done will be different, it's what each of us goes through almost every night. Planning a day so full that we don't leave ourselves much wiggle room. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

  Now comes the time that we celebrate one year of the Bedheadbob BLOG.  Well actually, the one year anniversary won't be the one year anniversary, it isn't until this Saturday, April 8th, so you still have time to get me that red Corvette I've always wanted.  On a serious note though, it is a special moment for me, as I celebrate not only the accomplishment of what I consider to be one of the crowning accomplishments of my life, but also the bond I feel with each of you, although we've never met, at least most of us.  Which brings me to the topic of this week's BLOG...
